Welcome to my home care services
Do you want to remain living independently in your own home - or know someone elderly or disabled that does? Or are you an unpaid carer for a friend or relative? Then you've come to the right place!!
My Home Care Services was established to safeguard the independence of older and disabled people in Essex. We offer practical help and advice to ensure they can remain living safely and comfortably in their own homes.
But sorting everything out isn't easy especially if you are new to the experience - that's where we come in. We provide advice on general issues, practical guidance on home adaptations, a place to buy specialist products and a directory of local accessible services - it's your one-stop-shop!
Does the person requiring help have £23,250 or more in savings?
Then it's likely that they are a 'self funder'.
If you are a self funder, not only will you have to pay for - but also organise your own package of care including most home adaptations. This is fine if you have experience of the care industry and know about services available - but what if you are new to the situation? It can leave self funders feeling isolated, helpless and asking 'What do I do now?' and it's amazing how little information is readily available to answer this question.
As a self funder - as the name implies - you'll have to fund many things yourself. But not everything, and it is confusing to know what you are eligible for? And what is really frustrating is finding out that you were eligible for something - after you've paid for it yourself!
For example - did you know that self funders are eligible for equipment if assessed as needing it? But where do you get an assessment?
We've experienced the frustrations of being a self funder first hand and didn't enjoy the experience! So we created this website to help self funders to help themselves. The site has been designed as a one stop shop for home care and assists self funders along every step of the way to enable the elderly and disabled to remain living safely and independently in their own homes.
